BUDGET

Budget Formulation Process

  • Quarterly Review:
    Fiscal Officers meet with Division Heads quarterly to review appropriations and revenue.

  • Preliminary Budget (September/October):
    A preliminary budget is prepared and presented to the Finance Committee by September/October each year.

  • Temporary Budget (December):
    A temporary budget is approved by the end of the calendar year, no later than December 31.

  • Final Appropriations (March):
    Final appropriations, which outline the approved spending by the Council, must be submitted to the State of Ohio by March 31.

  • Budget Formulation Timeline:
    The budget process begins in the summer, leading up to the March 31 deadline for final submission.
